Hock Hin Keong or more popularly known as Ban Ka Lan Snake Temple in Bayan Lepas is dedicated to the deity Cheng Chooi Chor Soo Kong. The Jade Emperor's Birthday, also known as the Hokkien New Year falls on the 9th day of the 1st Chinese lunar month. The Jade Emperor is the emperor of heaven and it is usually celebrated in grandeur and takes place at midnight. In Hokkien dialect, it refers to Thnee Kong Seh” or “Pai Thnee Kong”.
